You had to let fifteen people in your department go – and you were one of the lucky ones. In total, the organization released 200. In your opinion, the company handled some aspects of the layoff well and some not so well. The organization could have done a better job preparing department managers for what to expect in the aftermath, and how to help people manage the change. One thing is certain: pain and uncertainty will most certainly be a distraction for the foreseeable future.
